Liquids, powders, and other ingredients are loaded into the mixing tank through the top inlet or manhole. The tank's design allows for easy loading and prevents spillage.
The agitator (anchor, paddle, propeller, or turbine type) rotates at a controlled speed to blend ingredients thoroughly. Variable speed drives allow for gentle or high-shear mixing as required. Baffles prevent vortex formation and ensure homogeneous mixing.
For temperature-sensitive applications, the mixing tank can be equipped with a heating or cooling jacket. Steam, hot water, or chilled water circulates through the jacket to maintain precise temperature control during mixing.
Once the mixing process is complete, the homogeneous mixture is discharged through a sanitary bottom valve. The product is then transferred to the next process stage (filling, bottling, or storage).
