Raw water passes through a multi-stage pre-treatment system including a sand filter (to remove suspended solids), an activated carbon filter (to remove chlorine and organic matter), and a micron filter (5-10 micron) for fine particle removal. This protects the RO membranes from fouling and damage.
The pre-treated water is pressurized by a high-pressure pump and forced through semi-permeable RO membranes. The membranes reject dissolved salts, minerals, and impurities, producing high-quality permeate (product water) and a reject stream (concentrate). Typical recovery rates range from 55-80% depending on feed water quality.
The purified water passes through a UV sterilizer for disinfection and may be dosed with minerals (remineralization) or pH-adjusted as required. The treated water is stored in a tank and is ready for use in beverage production, bottling, or other industrial applications.
